Peace of mind

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that
moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”
After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be ... and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water... Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

What did Buddha emphasize here? He said, “It is effortless.” Having 'peace of mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you, that peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you and in the environment, such that people around start feeling that peace and grace.

Mind is compounded by idea and emotion, when our mind is not calm our emotion will not be calm and our idea can be mentally confuse, which mean we cannot separate; what is right and what is wrong. Therefore, after read this story I knew that if our mind was occurred with complication manner, we should leave it for a while, do not do anything to fire back immediately; just wait until we believe that our mind is free and calm. As Buddha’s advice “let it be, and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water”.

Well, this is a Buddha's story, the Buddha is a great person that haven't somebody to compared with. So he shown about place of mind to other people, our mind difficult to control, we look at to Buddha's story above when he was walking from town to town,While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”Again and again the water still muddy,I don’t think it is fit to drink. And our mind also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.” The Buddha said that It is effortless.” Having 'peace of mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you, that peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you and in the environment, such that people around start feeling that peace and grace. Every one pleas follow this. If we want to get place of mind please take morality and meditation. Practice from time to time. we will get the good result.

I think Buddhist's teaching is a great way to make people feel calm because he taught all people do something in a good way and do not jealous to another, so it can make us feel peace.

The Buddha's advise is always good. He teach all people to be calm on something that is the obstacle. even have something happen that make us difficult or disturb us, we should learn to be calm down on it. so it is the peace in your mind because not long it will disappear and it will back by the peace instead. but if we don't calm down, in contrast sometime it will get worst. " Peace in our mind is the best peace".

The Buddha always advise people that make peace inside and then spread outside. Futhermore, Buddha did not want people to rush when they met obstacle. We just take time and then it will be solved by itself through obstacle will disappear while we control our mind to claim down and keep peace in mind.
